Review: Letter from Santa – Lapland Mailroom

Lapland Mailroom letter from Santa

The two months between October 31st and December 31st have always been my favourite time of year. There’s Halloween, my birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.

Christmas is, of course one of the biggest highlights of the season and I can’t wait for Pumpkin to get to experience it all.

As cliché as it sounds, Christmas always seemed like a magical time when I was a child and I only hope that I can give my little girl a similar experience as she grows up.

While she’s too young to enjoy most of the annual traditions this year, there are a few things that I’d like to start anyway – such as a new tree ornament, a cheesy family Christmas photo and a trip to see Santa at a shopping mall.

So when Lapland Mailroom gave me the chance to review one of their personalised letters from Santa, I realised that an annual message from St Nick himself might also be a good tradition to start. That way, in a few years’ time, Pumpkin will have a collection of correspondence to read through as we unpack the decorations and watch The Muppet Christmas Carol.

The Lapland Mailroom website is festive, easy to navigate and simple to use.

You can view sample letters before you begin the ordering process. There are four to choose from and each one is worded slightly differently so if you have multiple children, you don’t have to worry about their letters being too similar.

I was pleased to see that there’s even a letter template that has been written specifically with baby’s first Christmas in mind – it was just what I wanted for Pumpkin.

Lapland Mailroom letter from SantaOnce you’ve chosen the letter, you simply fill in a form with various details about your child – who their best friend is, what gift they want, what they left for Santa’s reindeer last year. You can even add a personal message and choose whether to refer to the Big Guy as Santa or Father Christmas.

The form for the baby’s first Christmas letter was a bit more basic. You know, since most babies under a year old don’t have best friends or a desire for a specific prezzie.

That’s pretty much it. Easy peasy. Before you finish the ordering process, you can decide whether you want your child to receive just the letter (£6.95) or the letter and an activity pack (£7.95). Currently, all letters also include a free personalised Nice Child Certificate – something that I’m sure many children will be proud to receive (it’s normally £2.99).

After that, you enter payment info and then sit back and wait for the letter to arrive.

I was really impressed with the letter when we received it last week – it was so detailed and everything was printed on high-quality paper. The envelope even included an Official Lapland Seal and a postmark in (I assume) Finnish.

But I’ll put it in the Christmas box for next year. There’s a lot to it and I think it’s definitely worth the extra £1 if you have older children.

According to the website, all orders received before November 27th will be sent out on December 2nd – so you can order any time and not have to worry about the letter being delivered too early. All other orders should be sent out within three days and the last day for UK post is December 20th. The company also offers worldwide delivery – the full list of postal dates can be found here.

I must say that I was completely impressed by Lapland Mailroom’s letter from Santa and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and effective way to add some holiday magic to the festive period.

There was so much attention to detail in the letters and the company has really thought of everything to make each delivery special. And what kid doesn’t like getting something in the post? Especially if it’s a letter from Santa?!

Disclosure: Lapland Mailroom offered me a free Letter from Santa pack in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
