The week that was: captured – 12/10/14

TWTWC topper

At the start of this week, I only had plans for Wednesday – to have lunch with an old work friend who I hadn’t seen in two years. We’d been trying to arrange a meeting since sometime last year and finally managed it. While the rest of the week’s calendar was fairly empty, looking back over the pictures, I realised we did an awful lot!

The week that was captured

1. BLW gets real with pasta and tomato sauce; 2. Pumpkin learned to sit up on her own; 3. She shared some beetroot crisps with me; 4. A lazy day snuggling on the sofa; 5. I can’t stop buying hats for this child – I think I need a support group or something; 6. I really figured that he would have figured out how to hold her correctly by now… 7. First time in a ball pool at Mini Montessori; 8. A cheeky grin while gnawing on a carrot; 9. Trying to figure out the spoon at the floating Chinese restaurant where we had dim sum for lunch.

Fun at home – If she could talk, I think Pumpkin would say that her favourite part of the week was making an absolute mess with the pasta we gave her on Sunday night. It was especially fun when she figured out how to slam her hand down on it and make it shoot across the room.

Oh, she also really enjoyed our first trip to Mini Montessori – actually, we both did!

Time for me – Lunch at Wahaca with an old work friend – this was followed by a couple hours in a Starbucks near Charing Cross while I waited for the rain to clear up, then a trip to Waterstones and a walk through St James’s Park before having dinner with Hubby. Pumpkin was with me the whole time, but it still felt like me time.

My happiest moment – When she sat up on her own for the very first time. Once she figured it out, there was no stopping her.

Next week I would like to try – I know this isn’t the type of thing this heading is meant for, but I’d really like to try getting the flat back to some level of tidiness. A clean home equals a clear head and all that. Oh, I’d also like to try getting to sleep before midnight at least a couple of times. Ha ha ha ha!

  1. Great piccies, you certainly have been busy.

I love Pumpkin’s face in the pasta photo. 🙂

Psssttt… I can’t stop buying hats either, you’re not alone.

I’m very happy when our house is tidy (very rare though) so I think that definitely counts.

Thanks for linking up with our #HappyDaysLinky

Hope to see you again next week.

    • Thanks for the comment! I’m glad I’m not the only one addicted to buying baby hats. A this point, I think she could wear a different one each day of the month… Thanks for the linky!

  2. My mum always says ‘tidy home tidy mind’ and for me it is true. I always feel better after a good clean and tidy!!
I do love baby led weaning but I am glad that baby L is now able to get most of it in her mouth haha!! Thanks for joining in #HappyDaysLinky x

    • Well, I feel like I have a pretty untidy mind right now, too. I’m sure the state of the house doesn’t help. I’ve tried to clean up all week and it just seems to get worse. (sigh) Oh well.

  3. I love these pictures! Well done Pumpkin for learning to sit up, that is fantastic, she will be running about before you know it. Thanks for linking to #TWTWC x

    • Thanks for the comment – I completely believe she’ll be running around soon. It’s like the ability to sit up is linked in her brain to the rest of her mobility. She’s so close to pulling herself up already!

  4. Beautiful photos! I am the same with hats… cannot stop buying them 🙂 x

Thanks for linking up to #TWTWC xx
