1. She has started using her dummy backwards – but I can’t get a good picture of it; 2. she pulled that cushion into the playpen with her, then laid down like this to watch telly; 3. Snoozing on the sofa while Mummy tries to work; 4. Playing with her vtech table – I love how she’s holding her kitty by the tail… no, that’s not my Christmas tree still up. That’s my… um… January tree; 5. Who needs two feet to stand? 6. Look, mummy! No hands!; 7. She’s so laid back; 8. An apple crisp in each hand – she likes to have options; 9. Practising with a spoon – also: trying out her new sleeved bib.

Out and about

We didn’t get up to much this week, as we were mainly trying to recover from jet lag. It’s so much harder with a baby… She doesn’t understand the time difference and is perfectly happy to be awake and playing from 2am until 8am and then sleeping for four hours.

Sing and Sign class did manage to get us out of the house on Friday, though, and we had a wander around the shops after her class.

Fun at home

We haven’t done much at home either. Pumpkin has been enjoying the vtech desk that Santa brought (he left it here for us to find when we got back from the US). She’s a little young for it, but she loves to stand at it and bat at the pictures and it plays music, which she enjoys too.

The best part, apparently is the stool that came with it. Pumpkin flips it upside down and drags it across the floor. It makes a horrible noise that she loves.

Oh, we finally got to watch Frozen this week (and Monsters University too, actually). My verdict: it’s good. I think its story is better than Tangled – there are fewer plot holes at least – but I still prefer Tangled. It’s nice to have another movie that keeps the baby transfixed, though!

Time for me

There wasn’t really anything this week. Must do better…

My happiest moment was…

Last night when I finally got the baby to sleep in her cot for a few hours. It was the first time we hadn’t co-slept in weeks and it was so nice to sprawl!

Next week, I would like to try…

Get back on schedule, go to our weekly classes and get to the swimming pool at least once.

And I MUST get Christmas decorations put away and the last of our unpacking done. *hangs head in shame* 🙂

  1. I must admit, I do like Frozen. I think it helps that my daughter loves it too. Tangled is also one of our favourites. How funny that your little one has started sucking her dummy backwards 🙂 Your January tree looks great-it could be a trend that catches on 😉 #TWTWC

  2. Hahaha ‘January tree’ – you’ve had jet lag so don’t blame you for still having it up!

Pumpkin has such a good selection of Babygros – where are they from?

I hope you’re feeling back to your normal selves this week and you can get out to your groups etc.

  3. I can’t get over how grown up Pumpkin looks. She seems to have had a growth spurt while you were away! It seems like only yesterday that she was beginning to stand and walk and now she looks like a proper toddler.

We’re big fans of Frozen and Tangled here too although lately they’ve both been ignored in favour of Land Before Time – Great Day of the Flyers, which thankfully doesn’t have the kind of catchy song that you find yourself humming for days afterwards.

  4. Oh gosh – jetlag with a baby??? I can’t even begin to imagine how you deal with that! The clocks changing is quite enough for me. Sprawling sounds good!
