1. Snuggled on the sofa, watching TV while mummy works; 2. Mummy baby selfie where we both look a little odd; 3. She fell asleep on the sofa (again while I was working – watching the AristoCats and holding on to her toy cat); 4. A big smile; 5. Last Sunday – that’s how I spent my last day of maternity leave; 6. The hat protest: she takes it off several times, I put it back on every time. Eventually she resigns to having it on, but holds a bit of it and stares at me in contempt; 7. Eating noodles is hard work; 8. The ball pit at Mini Montessori, with Tigger photobombing; 9. Proof that my baby eats broccoli (somebody on FB didn’t believe it)

Out and about

We spent a lot of time at home this week. Monday and Tuesday are my new working days. We were supposed to go swimming on Wednesday, but I injured my back (it seems better now) and Sing and Sign was cancelled due to the teacher being in hospital. 🙁

We did go out on Friday for a while and we tried to go the park yesterday – but it started sprinkling about half-way there. We’re going out today though (but that’s next week’s post).

Fun at home

I feel like most of the week was spent chasing Pumpkin around the house. She has really mastered crawling (as well as door opening) and thinks the hallway is the best place to be – but there’s some furniture in there that needs to be attached to the wall before she can be allowed in there for even a few moments unsupervised.

Time for me

I’m really bad at this part. After Mini Montessori on Friday, we walked to Asda and also went into the B&Q next door.

Pumpkin was asleep and I wandered around the Christmas and lighting departments at B&Q doing a bit of day dreaming about what I could do with all the lovely things on display. I may well buy a new Christmas tree this year… but not sure how well that would withstand a constant siege from the baby.

Maybe we should just forget about a tree this year at all? We don’t spend actual Christmas at home, but I do like decorating anyway…

I also managed to cook a few Slimming World-friendly meals. It’s hard to get back into proper cooking when I’ve been taking unhealthy shortcuts for so many months…

My happiest moment was…

Watching the fireworks on Friday night from our living room window. We went to Blackheath last weekend to see the fireworks – which is one of my favourite things to do. But our local display is only a couple of blocks away and we can view it pretty well from our flat. Pumpkin was asleep in my arms, Daddy-man was at a games night with work friends, I was in comfy PJs and leaning my legs against the radiator and the house was nice and quiet except for the sound of the fireworks.

Next week I would like to try…

Getting out a bit more. I think I was in a bit of a mood because of having to work at the beginning of the week, so didn’t get out as much as normal during the rest of the week. Oh, and I also need to pay more attention to my poor little blog – it got a bit neglected last week too.

  1. Oh, I love your happiest moment – sounds really lovely. I love watching fireworks whilst being snuggled at home too. Beats being wet and cold!

I’ve just signed up for sing and sign lessons for January. I’m not usually one for baby groups but I can’t wait for this one to start.

Hope you can get out more this week. 🙂

    • Sing and Sign was the first baby group I went to – I wasn’t to keen on going to most other groups either, but I really enjoy this. I think the class setting is more my style!

  2. your happiest moment sounds so lovely, I love it when O’s asleep in my arms! Well done to pumpkin for mastering the crawling, such a big milestone! Lovely photos

  3. I used to do slimming world, it is amazing! I have totally gone off track since having Baby L though- maybe start again in the new year.
I love Christmas and having been wandering the shops looking at all the decorations too! You should definitely put up a tree, just put the precious decorations near the top lol!
Hope your week is going well, thanks again for joining in with our #HappyDaysLinky

    • My Slimming Worlding isn’t going all that well just yet. I’m… um.. easing into it – but I know it works when I do it right. I think I’m going to get the Christmas tree this week. I don’t think I have any breakable ones – I just don’t want the whole tree toppling over.

  4. Your happiest moment sounds like utter bliss! How lovely 🙂 I miss B sleeping in my arms!

Thanks for linking up to #TWTWC xx
