What are we reading? H is for Hummus

When it comes to toddler books, who doesn’t love a good ol’ ABC?

The thing is, A is for Apple, B is for Bear, C is for Cat… that can get boring.

Enter H is for Hummus: A Modern Parent’s ABC.

Pumpkin got this book as a birthday present, but Daddy-man and I are enjoying it too.

Actually, we’re probably enjoying it more than she is.

The book has some great illustrations – they’re cute and funny.

Take A is for Active Birthing – the mum is dripping with sweat, leaning on a Pilates ball and holding a little electric fan. While the dad is in the background sampling the gas and air supply.

Or on L is for Latching On, the poor mum is biting into the handle of a rattle, with a pained look on her face.

That one definitely elicited a ‘been-there-done-that’ nod of the head from me!

Plus, the words chosen for each letter are fab – and very apt for parents today.

There’s N is for Naughty Step, P is for Playdate and Q is for Quinoa.
And just as with diet and exercise to keep your body and blood circulation sildenafil generico online amerikabulteni.com active. Even some brand names got into the book – all of which made me smile when I saw them. For example: G is for Grobag, I is for Ikea, M is for Mumsnet and T is for Trunki.

If you’re looking for a fun book that you can read to your little one, but which will also brighten up your day, I’d definitely recommend this little book – and I think it would make a great gift for new parents too.

Heh. I can just imagine Pumpkin on her first day of school:

Teacher: Okay class, can anyone tell me what this letter is?

Class: A!

Teacher: And what begins with the letter A?

Pumpkin: Aromatherapy!
